Dry needling
If you’re afraid of needles – don’t be! Dry needling aims to heal muscle pain and dysfunction with small, solid filament needles inserted into trigger points throughout the body by our highly experienced physiotherapists trained in Dry Needling. These needles cause muscles to relax and can sometimes alleviate trigger point symptoms entirely.
Dry needling is a very safe and relaxing process. In some cases, a needle being inserted into a trigger point in a muscle can create a slight ache, but generally, there is limited or no excessive pain. Many physiotherapy patients do not feel the needles being inserted at all. There are no sensations such as you might feel if you accidentally prick your finger, for instance.
Dry needling is suitable for conditions such as back and neck pain, sporting injuries, and discomfort caused by poor posture.
